What to Expect During Your Tattoo Session

Before we begin, we’ll conduct a thorough placement and sizing check on your skin to ensure the design aligns perfectly with your vision. This step is crucial for achieving the best results.

We understand that comfort is key, so we offer pacing and breaks as needed throughout the session. Let us know how you’re feeling, and we’ll adjust accordingly to ensure a comfortable experience.

For those concerned about discomfort, we can discuss the use of numbing products on a case-by-case basis. Our priority is your comfort and satisfaction, so feel free to ask any questions you may have.

Aftercare Instructions

Post-Tattoo Care

Ensuring proper aftercare is essential for the longevity and vibrancy of your new tattoo. During the first 24 to 48 hours, keep the initial bandage on as directed by your artist. Once removed, gently cleanse the area with a mild, fragrance-free soap and pat it dry with a clean towel. Apply a thin layer of the recommended ointment to keep the skin hydrated and protected. For the next two weeks, clean the tattooed area once or twice daily and apply a light moisturizer. Avoid soaking the tattoo in water, such as in pools or baths, and steer clear of direct sunlight and tight clothing. Refrain from picking at any scabs or peeling skin to prevent damage. After two weeks, switch to a daily unscented moisturizer and always apply SPF when exposing your tattoo to the sun. If you notice any unusual redness, swelling, or discharge, contact us immediately for guidance.

At Hatta Tatt, we strive to provide a seamless experience for all our clients. Please be aware of our key policies: A non-refundable consultation fee of $50 is required, which will be applied to your session. We kindly ask for at least 48+ hours’ notice for rescheduling, and we will do our best to accommodate one change. Cancellations or no-shows will result in the forfeiture of your deposit, and repeated occurrences may affect future bookings. Custom designs are exclusively for tattooing by Hatta Tatt; please inquire if you require additional usage rights. Cover-ups and reworks are evaluated individually and may incur additional costs. Touch-ups are assessed after healing, with pricing dependent on the piece and reason. Participation in our portfolio is optional, and your decision will not impact the service you receive.

Payment information is securely processed by Stripe, and we do not store complete card numbers. Design references and prompts are shared with our AI provider solely for sketch generation purposes. What should I do to prepare for my tattoo session?

Ensure you are well-rested, hydrated, and have eaten before your session. Wear comfortable clothing and avoid alcohol or blood thinners.

Studio or in-home—how do I choose – Your call.

  • Concierge (in-home): We come to you within Cuenca city limits—same professional setup, private and convenient.

  • Private home studio: A calm, appointment-only space.

What do I need for an in-home session?
A clean, well-lit area (~6×6 ft), two chairs, a sturdy table, nearby outlet; secure pets and minimize foot traffic.

How long will it take?
Depends on size and detail. We’ll estimate during the consultation and confirm with your booking.

Does it hurt?
It varies by placement and your pain threshold. We offer numbing cream (lidocaine topical) and we’ll guide you, pace the session, and keep you comfortable.

What should I bring to my appointment?

Please bring a valid ID, any reference images, and a playlist if you prefer. For in-home sessions, ensure the setup space is clear.

How do I care for my new tattoo?

Keep the initial dressing on for 24–48 hours, cleanse gently, and apply a thin layer of ointment. Avoid soaking and sun exposure.

Can I reschedule my appointment?

Yes, but please provide at least 48+ hours’ notice.  We can accommodate one reschedule if possible without additional fees.

What is your cancellation policy?

Deposits are non-refundable. Repeated no-shows may result in loss of future booking privileges.

Do you offer touch-ups?

Touch-ups are evaluated after healing and may incur additional costs depending on the piece and cause.

Is my personal data safe?

We only collect necessary information for booking and tattoo delivery. Your data is not sold, and payment details are securely handled by Stripe.

Please Complete

  • Forms: Finish the consent and medical questionnaire within 24 hours of receiving them.

  • ID: Have a valid photo ID ready (passport or local ID). 18+ only.

  • Payment: If a balance is due, please settle it in advance via Stripe (or as arranged).

  • Portfolio permission (optional): You can opt in/out of healed-photo sharing anytime.

Skin Prep (Simple & Effective)

  • 72–48 hours out: Hydrate well; avoid sunburns, peels, and harsh exfoliants on the area.

  • 24 hours out: No alcohol or recreational drugs; go easy on caffeine; moisturize lightly.

  • Shaving: If needed, leave it to us (or shave gently the night before—no nicks or irritation).

  • Medications: Please inform us about any blood thinners, antibiotics, Accutane/retinoids, or recent procedures.

  • Allergies/Sensitivities: If you’re sensitive to adhesives/films (such as second-skin dressings) or numbing cream (lidocaine ointment), please let us know—patch tests are available upon request.

Logistics: Studio vs. Concierge

Private Home Studio (by appointment):

  • Arrive 5–10 minutes early.

  • Exact address and entry details are in your confirmation.

  • Bring a light layer (rooms can feel cool). One quiet guest is okay for most sessions—ask first.

Concierge (In-Home, Cuenca city limits):

  • Confirm your address, parking/elevator details, and building access.

  • Prepare a clean, well-lit space ~6×6 ft, with two chairs, a sturdy table, and a nearby outlet.

  • Secure pets and minimize foot traffic. We bring barriers, covers, and a sterile setup.

Design Freeze & Last-Minute Changes

  • Your design is approved and locked to protect quality and timing.

  • Small tweaks (such as minor sizing/position) may be possible on the day.

  • Major changes (new elements/composition) usually require a new preview, possible reschedule, and additional fees.

Health Check

  • Feeling unwell?  Running a fever?  Please reschedule.  Fresh tattoos and sick bodies don’t mix.

  • If you’re pregnant or nursing, we do not tattoo—reach out for future dates.

Rescheduling & Timing

  • Please give 48+ hours’ notice for reschedules.  Consultation fees/deposits are non-refundable.

  • Session lengths are approximate; art can run a bit shorter or longer. If extra time is needed due to mid-session changes, fees may apply (we’ll confirm first).

What to Bring / Wear

  • Comfortable clothing that gives easy access to the area.

  • Water + light snack, headphones if you like, and a phone charger.

  • Any final references (printed or on your phone).
